Description

This is a new Oribe-hi-dasuki (Oribe with fire-cord decoration) plate by Koji Nakahara, who studied under Fumio Kawabata and aims to create works that suit modern life. This piece is designed to capture both the stain resistance and usability of Oribe glaze, and the charming changes and textures characteristic of Bizen clay. While preserving the evolving beauty and comfort of Bizen clay, the outer rim is reinforced with Oribe glaze, enhancing its perfection as tableware. For this piece, the Bizen clay body has been changed to a mountain soil base, resulting in a reddish-brown texture speckled with small grains of stone. The iron-rich properties of the soil bring further changes to the Oribe glaze, creating a unique, deepened blackish hue reminiscent of amber glaze. The cool color scheme makes it perfect for dishes like somen noodles. No box
