Description

This Bizen teacup is the work of Kazuki Nakamura, a potter who creates deeply evocative pieces, following in the tradition of his grandfather, the master of sake vessels Rokuro Nakamura, and his father, Makoto Nakamura. While inheriting the lineage of these masters of sake-ware, this teacup displays the unique character that defines Kazuki’s personal style, setting him apart from his father and grandfather. With its low-slung, substantial form, and a rim and foot characterized by the same powerful, undulating lines that might lead one to mistake it for the work of his grandfather Rokuro, this piece possesses a calm, seasoned atmosphere and a unique charm rarely seen in a young artist. The quality of the clay also reflects the mastery inherited from Rokuro, featuring a beautiful surface with a gentle, overall scarlet hue. Much like his sake vessels, this is a teacup that offers the joy of becoming increasingly seasoned and personal the more you use it. No box included
