Kuro Hachi

This is a brand-new black donburi bowl, freshly removed from the kiln by Masao Akitani, an artist who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works full of unique originality infused with a fresh spirit. It is crafted using the Kuro-Bizen (black Bizen) technique inherited from his mentor, Jun Isezaki, resulting in a black color that is wonderfully rich, possessing both a deep luster and a warm tone. The bowl is made using black clay from Osafune Iso-ue, famous for sword making, which is melted into the surface to create its beautiful black finish. Conversely, on the outer perimeter, only the rim is black, allowing the *hi-dasuki* (fire-cord) markings that occur where the bowl overlaps with another vessel to be clearly enjoyed. At approximately 15cm, this versatile bowl is suitable for everything from side dishes to rice bowls, while its chic black color brings a harmonious touch to any table setting. No box
