Description
This is a new sake cup by Toru Ichikawa, who made a striking debut after studying under Ryuichi Kakurezaki, titled "God is love 'new foam'." It is a highly original and exceptional work that epitomizes Ichikawa's style of giving form to his endless stream of ideas through clay, the supreme medium. While the "foam" series is known for its beautiful, bubbling platinum glaze accented with gold lines, this piece has been reborn as "God is love new foam," showcasing a refinement of Ichikawa's signature bold expression. Particularly eye-catching is the "LOVE" lettering, which appears in the title and is rendered in red glaze; bordered by gold, the red glaze creates a truly luxurious and flamboyant atmosphere. The piece combines a clean white clay base with Ichikawa's trademark bubbling platinum glaze and a light-snow-like white glaze to form a magnificent landscape.
