Description

This is a brand new black small bowl, fresh from the kiln by Masao Akiya, who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with his own unique originality within a new spirit. It is crafted using the black Bizen technique inherited from his mentor, Jun Isezaki, and features a wonderful, warm-toned black color that also possesses a deep luster. It uses black clay from Osafune Isokami, famous for sword making, which is dissolved and applied to the surface to create a beautiful black finish. The inside is scattered with vigorous "goma" (ash glaze), which, combined with the black, creates a scene reminiscent of a starry sky. The area around the foot is thinly cut, and the spatula marks emerge when light hits it. No box included
Diameter 12.5cm × 12.5cm × Height 5.2cm
