Description

Yu Fujiwara had a visual impairment, yet because of this, he developed a daring style.
This teabowl has a very strong presence in your hands.
Yet it is finely balanced, without being too heavy.
The three "botamochi" patterns, a hallmark of Yu Fujiwara, are also beautiful.
The three "botamochi" red markings on the front, inside, and back are wonderful.
You can enjoy the "botamochi" both while drinking tea and when looking at the bowl afterwards.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1932 as the eldest son of Kei Fujiwara.
He was designated a Living National Treasure in 1996.
(This was the first time in the field of ceramics that both a parent and child were so designated.)
He passed away in 2001.
