Description

Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses the same hole-type kiln (known as anagama in Japan) as his father and his father's apprentice.
This work features the characteristic hues of anagama firing.
It showcases vibrant colors, such as brown and white, set against a red base.
Natural glaze adheres to the patterns left by the wrapped rice straw, creating a thunderbolt-like design.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in New York and has been active in the field since 2000.
