Description
He was born into a family of famous Bizen potters.
From an early age, he learned the spirit of the Kaneshige family and how to prepare clay.
His recent works consist mostly of glazed pieces and those with very few fire marks.
This yunomi features a green "kasegoma" reminiscent of melon skin and a beautiful purple surface.
These are Kaneshige fire marks, which are now rarely seen in his work.
There is a crack at the edge, which occurred because a stone inside expanded due to the heat.
Although water leaks from the crack, the point of origin is high, so it can be used normally.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1965 as the eldest son of Michiaki Kaneshige.
He became independent as a ceramic artist in 1995.
