Description

Takashi Soga researches old Bizen ware and uses it as inspiration for his creative work.
He does not use any kiln tools made with modern chemicals.
He strives to recreate the environment in which old Bizen ware was originally produced within his own studio.
His work, crafted in this unique environment, bears a striking resemblance to old Bizen ware.
This is his new Tokkuri, which was just fired in July 2020.
A mysterious, kiln-transformation (Yohen) effect resembling black soot is added to his characteristic astringent Hidasuki flame markings.

He was born in Tokyo in 1984.
He became a disciple of Jun Isezaki in 2009.
He built a kiln in Bizen City in 2012 and debuted as a ceramist the following year.
