Description

Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln known as an "anagama."
"Hikidashi" refers to the process of removing a piece from the kiln during the firing.
Works exposed to the outside air cool rapidly, resulting in a color different from standard Bizen ware.
In this work, the attached pine ash becomes transparent, resembling amber.
The black section is coated with a special clay and turns indigo due to the hikidashi effect.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and has been active since 2000.
