Description

Mitsuru Isezaki is one of the potters who inherited the Bizen ware revived by Toyo Kaneshige.
His pottery style is simple and unadorned, showcasing the natural beauty of the clay.
The surface of this Guinomi features a rainbow-colored firing pattern known as "Kinsai."
Under the influence of the Kinsai, the color of the clay has also taken on a metallic hue.
The foot is a cut Wari-Koudai, featuring an elaborate design that is quite unusual for his work.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1934.
He was recognized as an Important Intangible Cultural Property by the prefecture in 1998.
He passed away in 2011.
