Description
Koji Nakahara is a potter who works in two locations, Osaka and Bizen.
He is commissioned to create bespoke tableware for a famous restaurant in Osaka.
In Bizen, he studies Bizen ware under his mentor, Fumio Kawabata.
He uses an electric kiln to transform Hidasuki into a metallic hue.
Furthermore, he does not mix the clay until it is perfectly uniform.
As a result, the metallic color resembles a tiger-stripe pattern.
Susogo is a term originally used in textile dyeing.
He chose this name because of the similar gradation from pink gold to dark gray.
He was born in Osaka Prefecture in 1978.
He has been a disciple of Fumio Kawabata since 2001.
