Description

He inherits the skills of his father, Sozan Kanesige.
I feel Sozan Kanesige's powerful and intense design in his work.
And since they have valued clay for generations, they have excellent clay.
This Guinomi was fired in October 2020.
He fired it in a spot in the back of the climbing kiln where yohen effects could accumulate.
A large amount of heated charcoal poured over the piece, forming a lava-like fire pattern.
You can see the color of the clay through the gaps between the circular ash deposits.
It is a blue-gray color like Aobizen due to the influence of the strong flames.
And a golden fire pattern is generated in the gaps between the circular ash, resembling an annular solar eclipse.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1945 as the eldest son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He graduated from Kyoto University in 1969.
He became his father's apprentice.
