Description

Shuroku Harada was studying old Bizen ware.
He was a student of ceramics researcher Matasaburo Katsura.
The knowledge he gained forms the basis of his pottery style.
He has not fired a kiln in recent years.
This Tokkuri was made quite thick and then scraped off with a spatula.
Therefore, the title is "Shinogi".
The Shinogi technique allows you to enjoy the clay turning and the raised stone grains, but this Tokkuri is even more surprising.
That lies in the power of the shaving itself.
It is very interesting because it feels as though it were cut with a small katana.

He was born in Okayama Prefecture in 1941.
He became a potter in 1969.
He became a disciple of Matasaburo Katsura in 1975 and studied Old Bizen.
