Description

He is a disciple of Ryuichi Kakurezaki.
He learned about Kakurezaki's innovative designs and Anagama firing methods.
He creates his works using standard Bizen clay and applies a black slip after the pieces have dried.
The "Kuro" (black) slip is made from high-iron-content clay sourced from the Osafune district of Okayama Prefecture.
He adds a small amount of cobalt after dissolving it in water to create a liquid state.
The black slip applied to the work transforms into a beautiful black color when fired.
This tea bowl features a very special kiln effect.
The bright, translucent light-blue pattern is a unique color.
I wondered if this tea bowl was created using the Hikidashi (pulling out) technique, but it was not.

He was born in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture in 1977.
He became a disciple of Ryuichi Kakurezaki in 2005.
He became an independent ceramic artist in 2016.
