Description

Yuho Kaneshige is the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He inherited the Inbe house and kiln from his father.
He had been presenting traditional Kaneshige-style works.
However, around 2018, he began a new challenge.
He demolished the kiln he inherited from his father and built a more primitive one.
He built a small noborigama (climbing kiln) in 2005.
He fired this guinomi in that small noborigama for the first time in a long while.
The koudai (foot) resembles a masterfully forged sword, characterized by its sharp design and the beauty of the clay visible in its cross-section.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1950 as the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He became his father's apprentice in 1975.
He became independent as a ceramic artist in 1980.
