Description

Yuho Kaneshige is the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He inherited the Inbe house and kiln from his father.
He presented works in the traditional Kaneshige style.
This tokkuri was made in 1995.
The hidasuki, fired in an electric kiln given to him by Sozan Kaneshige, is very beautiful.
The influence of his father, Sozan Kaneshige, can be seen in the way the scarlet color is brought out (the method of wrapping the straw).
The elegant design allows it to be used as both a tokkuri and a vase.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1950 as the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He became his father's apprentice in 1975.
He became independent as a ceramic artist in 1980.
