Description
Koichiro Isezaki is Jun Isezaki's eldest son.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This new work was fired in 2021.
This piece is made using special white clay collected in the Inbe area.
He fired it without glaze, but the composition of the white clay produced a fire pattern with a color distinct from traditional Bizen ware.
The color shifted from the original yellow or brown "goma" (ash glaze), which resembles gold, to a muddy white or pale purple.
Born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1974, he is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in New York and has been active since 2000.
