Description

This is a Guinomi made by Rokuro Nakamura, who is known as a master of sake ware.
The red clay color on the front makes it look even more beautiful when it gets wet with sake.
The green Goma glaze on the side also pairs beautifully with the red clay color.
While his Henko (flask-shaped) Tokkuri are his most famous works, this Hisago (gourd-shaped) style is also rare and highly sought after.
It is estimated that this Hisago Tokkuri was made when he was around 80 years old.
The overall design is free of any excess, yet it feels incredibly spacious and comfortable.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1914.
He studied under Toyo Kaneshige starting around 1945 and became a potter.
He passed away in 2004.
