Description

Koichiro Isezaki is Jun Isezaki's eldest son.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
"Hikidashi" refers to removing the work from the kiln while it is still firing.
The pieces that come into contact with the outside air cool rapidly, resulting in a different color from standard Bizen ware.
In this piece, the deposited pine ash becomes transparent, resembling amber.
Furthermore, this is a white piece because it uses special white clay collected in Inbe.
The black section is coated with a special clay and turns indigo due to the hikidashi effect.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in New York and has been active since 2000.
