Description
Koichiro Isezaki is Jun Isezaki's eldest son.
He uses the same hole-type kiln (known as anagama in Japan) as his father and his father’s disciple.
This piece was sealed in a sayabachi and fired in an anagama.
A sayabachi is a container made of refractory clay.
He beat rice straw to soften it, then rolled it up and placed it on the bottom and inside of this guinomi.
A quiet world of clay-white and straw-red was born.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974, as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and has been active since 2000.
