Description
This is a guinomi by Rokuro Nakamura, known as a master of sake vessels.
The red clay coloring on the front makes it even more beautiful when wet with sake.
The Nakamura family's unique body design makes it very easy to hold.
I estimate that this guinomi was made when he was between 60 and 70 years old.
The surface texture is very soft, showing it was handled with great care by a collector.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1914.
He studied under Toyo Kaneshige starting around 1945 and became a potter.
He passed away in 2004.
