Description

He became an independent ceramic artist in 1999.
And this work was also made in 1999.
Even though it is an early work, I don't feel much "youth" in it.
Rather, on the contrary, I find Mitsuru Isezaki's style to be traditional yet light and rhythmic.
The design of this sake cup is a smaller version of a Kutsu-Chawan (tea bowl).
The beautiful scarlet clay color is typical of the Isezaki clan.

He was born in Imbe in 1970, the fourth son of Mitsuru Isezaki.
After graduating from high school, he became a disciple of Koichi Shibaoka in 1988.
In 1993, he returned to his father to learn his craft.
He has been an independent potter since 1999.
