Description

Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This guinomi was fired in March 2022.
This piece is made using special white clay collected in the Imbe area.
He fired it without glaze, but the components of the white clay produced fire patterns with colors different from traditional Bizen ware.
The outer surface has a luster as if it were coated in glass.
What would typically be yellow or brown goma (ash glaze), which resembles gold, has shifted to a muddy white or translucent blue.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in New York and has been active since 2000.
