Description

Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama".
This guinomi was fired in March 2022.
"Hikidashi" refers to the technique of removing a piece from the kiln while it is still firing.
The pieces exposed to the outside air cool rapidly, resulting in colors different from standard Bizen ware.
On this piece, the deposited pine ash has become transparent, resembling amber.
The black areas are coated with special clay and turned indigo due to the hikidashi effect.
The simple design allows the indigo beauty of this guinomi to truly stand out.

Born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in New York and has been active since 2000.
