Description
Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama".
This Guinomi was fired by him in March 2022.
There is a hole in the middle of the anagama for small firewood.
The firewood added during the firing process created a black fire pattern on this piece.
It is a vibrant piece of "youhen" (kiln transformation) with colors distinct from those produced in a noborigama kiln.
The design resembles a smaller tea bowl (chawan).
Very quiet and calm, yet possessing a beautiful, spherical form.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in New York and began his career in 2000.
