Description

He inherits the skills of his father, Sozan Kaneshige.
I feel Sozan Kaneshige's powerful and intense design in his work.
And since they have valued clay for generations, they have excellent clay.
This Guinomi was fired in October 2021.
Like his father, he will try his hand at more than just Bizen ware.
This Guinomi is made of Bizen clay covered with straw ash, similar to Karatsu ware.
He fired this piece in a Noborigama kiln.
The glaze developed a light blue color due to the influence of the clay and the kiln.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1945 as the eldest son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He graduated from Kyoto University in 1969.
He became his father's disciple.
