Description
Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This Chawan was fired in August 2022.
This work is crafted using special white clay collected in the Inbe area.
He fired it without glaze, but the components of the white clay produced a fire pattern with colors distinct from traditional Bizen ware.
The outer surface has a luster as if it were coated in glass.
What would originally be yellow or brown Goma, close to gold, has shifted to a muddy white or translucent blue.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki in 1974.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and has been active since 2000.
