Description

Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This Guinomi was fired in August 2022.
White clay from Imbe was used as the base clay for this piece.
Additionally, black clay is partially applied to create a "Kakewake" (two-tone) effect.
The "Kuro" (black) is made from clay with a high iron content from the Osafune district of Okayama Prefecture.
A small amount of cobalt is added after dissolving the clay in water to make it liquid.
The black clay applied to the work turns a beautiful black color when fired.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and began his career in 2000.
