Description

Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln known as an "anagama."
This Guinomi was fired in August 2022.
"Hikidashi" refers to the process of removing a piece from the kiln during firing.
Works exposed to the outside air cool rapidly, resulting in a color different from standard Bizen ware.
In this piece, the accumulated pine ash becomes transparent, resembling amber.
The black section is coated with special clay and takes on an indigo hue due to the hikidashi effect.
The simple design allows you to fully appreciate the indigo beauty of this Guinomi.
In the past, Bizen ware was never used to represent the universe or the sky.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and has been active since 2000.
