Description

Yuho Kaneshige is the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He inherited the Kaneshige family home and kiln from his father.
He initially presented works in the traditional Kaneshige style.
However, around 2018, he began a new challenge.
He demolished the kiln he inherited from his father and built a more primitive one.
This Yunomi is a work fired in that primitive kiln.
In recent years, he has frequently used that kiln to produce symmetrical tea bowls (Chawan) without natural ash glaze.
This is a very attractive Yunomi that directly applies the techniques used to create those tea bowls.
This Yunomi was fired in November 2022.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1950 as the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He became his father's apprentice in 1975.
He established himself as an independent ceramic artist in 1980.
