Description

Yuho Kaneshige is the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He inherited the Kaneshige family home and kiln from his father.
He originally presented works in the traditional Kaneshige style.
However, around 2018, he began a new challenge.
He demolished the kiln inherited from his father and built a more primitive one.
This yunomi is a work fired in that primitive kiln.
In recent years, he has frequently used that kiln to produce symmetrical chawan without natural glaze ash.
This is a highly attractive yunomi that directly incorporates the techniques used to create those chawan.
This yunomi was fired in November 2022.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1950 as the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He became his father's apprentice in 1975.
He became an independent ceramic artist in 1980.
