Description

He is a disciple of Jun Isezaki.
He learned about Jun Isezaki's innovative design and Anagama firing methods.
He creates works using standard Bizen clay, applying black slip after the pieces have dried.
"Kuro" (black) is made using clay with a high iron content.
A small amount of cobalt is added after dissolving it in water to create a liquid state.
The black slip applied to the work turns a beautiful black when fired.
The kigoma (wood-ash glaze) on the front is a wonderful firing pattern that suits the atmosphere of the work, adhering in a fluid, dripping manner.
The reverse side features a brownish hue reminiscent of the traditional Bizen Imbe style.
This tokkuri (sake bottle) was fired in December 2022.

He was born in Chiba Prefecture in 1988.
He became a student of Jun Isezaki in 2013.
He became an independent potter in 2017 and built his own kiln in Ibaraki Prefecture in 2019.
