Description
Koichiro Isezaki is Jun Isezaki's eldest son.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This Guinomi was fired by him in March 2023.
There is a hole in the middle of the anagama for small firewood.
The firewood added during the firing process created the black fire patterns on this piece.
It is a vibrant piece of yohen (kiln transmutation) with colors distinct from those of a noborigama (climbing kiln).
The stylish design is achieved by scraping away clay with a wooden spatula.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and has been active since 2000.
