Description
He presents his work in two ways: traditional Bizen ware style and black style.
This Guinomi is made in black style.
It is a technique using a cobalt-infused slip that has been popular since 2000.
Black-style pieces feature a beautiful, rough, glossy black clay base with vibrant cobalt blue fire patterns.
However, in this Guinomi, the black has transformed almost entirely into indigo, which is highly unusual.
The black remains in the base, and in areas where the clay is thinner, a beautiful black hue is visible.
He was born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1970.
He began his pottery career in Okayama Prefecture in 1991.
He has been a disciple of Yuichi Yamamoto since 1995.
He became an independent potter in 2001.
