Description
Yuho Kaneshige is the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He inherited the Kaneshige family home and kiln from his father.
He initially presented works in the traditional Kaneshige style.
However, around 2018, he embarked on a new challenge.
He demolished the kiln inherited from his father and built a more primitive one.
I believe this was the last piece he created before destroying his kiln.
This tokkuri features both the elegant colors of the Kaneshige style and the bold colors of antique Bizen ware.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1950 as the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He became his father's disciple in 1975.
He established himself as an independent ceramic artist in 1980.
