Description

Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This Guinomi was fired in July 2023.
"Hikidashi" refers to the technique of removing a piece from the kiln during the firing process.
Works exposed to the outside air cool rapidly, resulting in a color different from standard Bizen ware.
On this piece, the deposited pine ash has become transparent, resembling amber.
The black section is coated with a special clay and turned indigo through the Hikidashi effect.
The simple design allows you to fully appreciate the indigo beauty of this Guinomi.
In the past, Bizen ware was never used to depict the universe or the sky.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and has been active since 2000.
