Description
Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This Guinomi was fired by him in July 2023.
There is an opening in the middle of the anagama for small firewood.
The firewood added during the firing process created a black flame pattern on this piece.
It is a vibrant "youhen" (kiln transformation) with a color distinct from that of a nobori-gama kiln.
The design resembles a smaller Chawan (tea bowl).
Very quiet and calm, yet possessing a beautiful, spherical form.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and has been active since 2000.
