Description

Michiaki Kaneshige is the eldest son of Toyo Kaneshige.
He creates traditional Bizen ware and innovative sculptures while following the teachings of his father, Toyo Kaneshige.
Based on the box and style, I assume this Guinomi was produced towards the end of his career.
The work is very simple in style, yet it is filled with Michiaki's ceramic aesthetics.
Red, orange, purplish red, brown, and other tones shift rapidly to create a complex and wonderful clay color.
When you pour liquor into it, the clay color darkens, revealing an even more intoxicating beauty.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1934 as the eldest son of Toyo Kaneshige.
He became his father's disciple in 1955 after graduating from college.
He passed away in 1995.
