Description
This is a yunomi (tea cup) made by Rokuro Nakamura, who is known as a master of sake ware.
The Nakamura clan's unique body design makes it very easy to hold.
I assume from the design and the wooden box that he worked on it after the age of 80.
It is quite large, yet very easy to grip, as is typical of Rokuro Nakamura, who loved to drink.
The gentle scarlet color of the hidasuki and the wild body may seem unbalanced, but I think they go very well together.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1914.
He was taught by Toyo Kaneshige from around 1945 and became a potter.
He passed away in 2004.
