Description
He has been creating unique pieces in primitive kilns in recent years.
He has also produced a work titled "Shiro."
However, this "Shiro" was not fired in a primitive kiln, but in an electric kiln.
It was fired at a high temperature and has slight Hidasuki markings.
It is very hard, but the surface is smooth and almost worn.
The design is also interesting as it has repeatedly shrunk and expanded on the potter's wheel.
One gets the feeling that the work is not made of a single piece, but is put together like a three-dimensional puzzle.
This work was exhibited at his solo exhibition in March 2024.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1950 as the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He became his father's disciple in 1975.
He became independent as a ceramic artist in 1980.
