Description

Makoto Nakamura is the eldest son of Rokuro Nakamura.
He faithfully reproduces the style of Rokuro Nakamura.
He is also skilled at making sake ware, just like Rokuro Nakamura.
This Guinomi was fired about 10 years ago.
The owner has taken good care of it and it is clean, though the clay surface shows signs of wear.
A characteristic of the Nakamura clan is the red clay color.
However, this piece was fired in such intense heat that it has lost that red clay tone.
The melted ash has solidified and transformed into the appearance of a black stone.
Only the sides of the body are Kasegoma due to the different way the fire hit them.
The Kasegoma section retains the very vivid red clay color typical of his work.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1949.
In 1971, he became an apprentice to his father, Rokuro Nakamura.
He has been working independently as a ceramic artist since 1975.
