Description
Takashi Baba is a ceramic artist who combines sculpture with Bizen ware style.
He employs extensive shaving and patterning techniques to create highly artistic works.
This Guinomi was fired by him in August 2024.
Based on Bizen clay, it was glazed with Shino and fired in a Bizen Noborigama kiln.
The Shino glaze took on more complex shades through the Noborigama firing process.
By refining the glaze, he succeeded in creating patterns that resemble flickering flames.
He named the pattern “Sou Enn” (blue flame).
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1983.
He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2006.
Since 2007, he has been working as a ceramic artist in Bizen City.
