Description

Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This Guinomi was fired by him in September 2024.
There is a hole in the middle of the anagama for small firewood.
The firewood added during the firing process created the black fire patterns on this piece.
It is a vibrant "yohen" (kiln transformation) with colors distinct from those of a noborigama (climbing kiln).
The design resembles a smaller Chawan.
It is very quiet and serene, yet possesses a beautiful spherical form.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in NY and has been active in his craft since 2000.
