Description
Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses the same hole-type kiln (known as anagama in Japan) as his father and his father's disciple.
This Guinomi was fired in September 2024.
This piece was placed inside a sayabachi (a refractory clay container) and fired in an anagama kiln.
A sayabachi is a box made of fire-resistant clay.
He softened rice straw by beating it, then rolled it up and placed it on the bottom and inside of this Guinomi.
A tranquil world of clay-white and straw-red has emerged.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in New York and has been active since 2000.
