Description

Koichiro Isezaki is the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a tunnel-shaped kiln called an "anagama."
This Guinomi was fired in September 2024.
"Hikidashi" refers to the technique of removing a piece from the kiln during the firing process.
Works that are exposed to the outside air cool rapidly, resulting in colors that differ from standard Bizen ware.
In this piece, the pine ash deposit becomes transparent, resembling amber.
The black section is coated with a special clay and turned indigo through the hikidashi effect.
Its simple design allows you to fully appreciate the indigo beauty of this Guinomi.
In the past, Bizen ware was never used to express themes like the universe or the sky.

He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974 as the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.
He graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1996.
He studied ceramics in New York and has been active in the field since 2000.
