Description
Makoto Nakamura is the eldest son of Rokuro Nakamura.
He faithfully reproduces the style of Rokuro Nakamura.
He is also skilled at crafting sake ware, just like Rokuro Nakamura.
This Guinomi was fired in October 2024.
The hallmark of the Nakamura clan is the red clay color.
However, this work was fired in such intense flames that it lost its red clay hue.
The melted ash has solidified and transformed, resembling a black stone.
A hint of red clay remains on the inside, despite the fierce fire.
I am struck by the power of his clay.
He was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture in 1949.
He began an apprenticeship under his father, Rokuro Nakamura, in 1971.
He became independent as a ceramic artist in 1975.
