Description

He cherishes clay very much as the Kaneshige family does.
The Kaneshige family does not use machines to process their clay.
The clay material is prepared by hand.
As a result, the quality of the clay they use is amazing.
This Guinomi was fired about five to ten years ago and was purchased by a collector who kept it without using it.
It is a robust "Yohen" style Guinomi that was fired in a large amount of burning charcoal.
However, the quality of the clay is so high that a beautiful red clay color remains on the piece.
The finish after firing is also very refined, making it a pleasure to touch.

He was born in Tokyo in 1972 as the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige.
He graduated from Waseda University in 1994.
He completed a graduate program in the sculpture department at Long Island University in New York in 2000.
He then became his father's apprentice.
