Description

He is a disciple of Ryuichi Kakurezaki.
He learned about Kakurezaki's innovative design and Anagama firing methods.
This Guinomi was fired in February 2025.
He crafts his works using standard Bizen clay and applies a coating of black clay after the pieces have dried.
"Kuro" (black) is made using clay with a high iron content from the Osafune district of Okayama prefecture.
A small amount of cobalt is added after dissolving it in water to create a liquid slip.
The black clay applied to the work transforms into a beautiful black color when fired.
This Guinomi features a very special kiln effect.
The bright, transparent light blue fire pattern is a unique color.
As moisture seeps into the blue fire pattern, it changes to an even more beautiful hue.

He was born in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture in 1977.
He became a disciple of Ryuichi Kakurezaki in 2005.
He became independent as a ceramic artist in 2016.
