Description

He cherishes clay as part of the Kaneshige tradition.
The Kaneshige family does not use machines to prepare their clay.
The clay material is adjusted by hand.
As a result, the quality of the clay they use is exceptional.
This Guinomi was fired about five to ten years ago and was purchased by a collector who kept it unused.
It is a striking "Yohen" style Guinomi, fired in a large amount of burning charcoal.
However, the quality of the clay is so high that a beautiful red clay color remains in the piece.
The finish after firing is also very refined, making it a joy to hold.

He was born in Tokyo in 1972 as the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige.
He graduated from Waseda University in 1994.
He completed the graduate sculpture program at Long Island University in New York in 2000.
He then became his father's apprentice.
